I wrote this in response to some of the Christian denominations which seem to be more concerned in the past years with being open and tolerant, by concerning themselves with peripheral issues non-essential to the gospel or personal salvation, than they do with teaching the truths of time-honored scripture. I hope it speaks for itself.
Just as I am,
We’ve heard the refrain
Come As You Are
You don’t need to change
We’ve come so far
To become so blind
We do no favors
By thinking we're kind
Did God not say
What He’s already said?
For the things we’ve done
He suffered and bled
We welcome you
So come on in
We want to fill our pews
We won’t talk about sin
Being all for social justice
We’ll gladly ride that mule
And paint those who dissent
As heartless and cruel
But we’ll support the rights
Of a generational disease
While we're at it
Let's save the water, air and trees
Let's save the water, air and trees
When we should worship
Not the creation we see
But The One who created
As we bow on our knees
Have we lost sight
Of God’s great grand plan
When tolerance for everything
Is the message at hand?
